Here at Green Point Nurseries, in Hilo, Hawaii, we grow our premium anthuriums, orchids and other tropical plants on the slopes of a volcano. Our nurseries actually sit atop ancient black volcanic cinders, which are the growing medium, the life force, that nurtures our plants and flowers. For four generations now our family has lived here on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Our location on the flanks of the volcano not only impacts what we grow, but also affects everything we do. Witnessing powerful, brilliant orange and yellow lava burst forth and create new land gives us reverence and respect for the volcano; for the place where we live and work; for nature. We are filled with awe at the incomparable source of life, beauty and energy that surrounds us.
