Fashionable Holiday Designs
I would like to bring your attention to Lois Hiranaga, AIFD, who put on a Hands on Workshop, titled Fashionable Holiday Designs.
This workshop was to help educate local designers on utilizing tropicals for Christmas/Holidays. Below are 6 candid photos from the workshop displaying designs created in Lois’ workshop.
This workshop also had support from the Hawaii Department of Agriculture (HDOA), University of Hawai'i College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (UH - CTAHR), Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation (HFBF) and Economic Development Alliance of Hawai'i (EDAH) and gave them the opportunity to showcase their message of "Buy Local for the Holidays". Normally when one hears the message of “Buy Local” it's in regards to food but their support helped to show that flowers and foliages are just as important.
Another message on display was the Designer/Grower relationship, modeled after the Chef/Farmer and the Farm to Table concept. The synergy that's created when a designer works closely with the grower leads to a win/win situation.
We would like to thank Lois Hiranaga, AIFD and all those who showed support for this Hands on Workshop, “Fashionable Holiday Designs”, which truly showed the Holiday Spirit with the Hawaiian Spirit, using Hawaiian Tropical products.
