Leilani (New Pahoa Red)


Description:
The spathe on “Leilani” bright red measures 8 inches long and 6 inches wide with slightly overlapping lobes. The spadix is white with greenish yellow color when mature. The spadix is in good proportion to its spathe. The color intensity of this bright red bloom is accented by its high gloss shine. Flower yield over a 3-year period is approximately 7 blooms per plant per year, which can be considered excellent. Leilani is tolerant to anthracnose and bacterial blight.

Hybridized close to Hawaii’s active Pu’u O’o Volcano vent, Leilani is a large glossy bright red propagating well in tissue culture
